WORK PROGRAMME 7 - PROJECTS

Work Programme Lead: Professor Mike Roberts

WP Lead Secundus: Ms Sarah F.W Taylor

Project 7.1 aims at defining the concept of “risk”, reviewing how risks are measured within the OAF and exploring how risks of a transboundary nature are accounted for in the OAF.

Project 7.2 aims at defining risk and relative levels of vulnerability within the South African context. The study will focus on the chokka industry, to investigate risks associated to this provisioning ecosystem service and further assess how this case study, can fit into the OAF for ocean-governance purposes.

Project 7.3 explores how integrating risks into the OAF can assist in following policy-making and decision-making processes leading to faster mitigatory and adaptive ocean-governance measures.

Project 7.4 explores how to integrate thoughts and findings on the applicability of the risk accounts within the South African and Western Indian Ocean contexts.
